Manufacturing

IT for plants that can’t stop.

The line runs on servers nobody wants to touch. The insurer sent a security questionnaire. A customer wants to audit its suppliers. We’ve built and run the systems behind steel manufacturing.

In your vocabulary

What lands on our desk at a plant.

Servers and storage.

The virtual servers and storage production depends on, built so one failed host doesn’t stop a shift.

Backups.

Backups that restore. Tested on a date, not assumed.

Patching.

Servers and software patched on a schedule that works around production.

The network.

Switches and firewalls behind named logins. No shared admin password taped inside the cabinet.

Reports.

Dashboards supervisors will open on the floor. We built a safety scorecard used across plant operations.

Questionnaires.

The insurer’s and the customer’s security questions answered with evidence, not guesses.

What we’re not

We run the IT around the line. Not the line.

  • Not a controls integrator.
  • Not a PLC programming shop.
  • Not your ERP vendor.

The controls stay with your integrator and the ERP with its vendor. We manage both the way a staff IT director would: scope, access, invoices.

Proof

From inside steel manufacturing.

  • We’ve built and run the servers, storage and backups behind steel manufacturing.
  • We’ve built a safety scorecard used across plant operations.
  • We’ve put plant devices under management and network gear behind named logins.

VMware, Cisco UCS, Dell EMC storage, Cisco networking, Intune, Power BI and Power Apps

Questions

Asked on the plant floor.

Do you work on plant floor systems?

The servers, network and reporting around them, yes. The controls stay with your integrator. We manage that relationship.

We aren’t regulated. Is this for us?

If an insurer, an auditor or a big customer sends you a security questionnaire, you answer to someone. That counts.

Can you work around our production schedule?

Yes. Patching and changes happen in the windows you give us, with a way back if something goes wrong.
